WHAT WE DO

Updating, disseminating and integrating the Guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis and management of acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease.

CaRHD-In will updates evidence based guidelines to support health professionals of Cameroon to achieve best practice care for people with ARF and RHD. The national Guideline is not yet available, CaRHD-In will elaborate and propose guidelines which can be adopted and spread throughout the country.

Developing and implementing high quality, evidence based education and training resources for health professionals, people with ARF/ RHD, their families and communities

As well as providing evidence based guidelines and other best practice resources for health professionals, CaRHD-In works closely with stakeholders, patients, families and communities to develop culturally-appropriate information to help increase disease prevention and support self-management. These activities are carried out in conjunction with key partner organisations and state and territory-based RHD control programs across Africa.

Supporting health systems to achieve evidence-based best practice for focused prevention activities in high-risk communities

CaRHD-In works with health districts to strengthen patient support capacity and raise awareness of ARF and RHD. We assist with development and implementation of culturally-appropriate resources for people living with ARF and RHD and their communities, with a focus on peer support initiatives, self-management tools and community health promotional material.
